Today, Lheidli T’enneh First Nation joined Fisheries and Oceans Canada, project partners, and neighbouring Nations to announce the construction of the Upper Fraser River Conservation Hatchery in our territory.
This important investment supports the recovery of Chinook salmon while advancing Indigenous stewardship, collaborative fisheries management, and long-term watershed health throughout the Fraser River system.
For Lheidli T’enneh, salmon recovery is about more than a hatchery. It is about restoring habitat, reconnecting waterways, strengthening ecosystems, and ensuring future generations can continue their relationship with salmon and the land.
