All participants enrolled in AITT will participate in Trades 101.  This 25 hour course will run from

January 30  to  February 03, 2017.

The Trades 101 Course has been developed with the goal of providing students with an opportunity to prepare themselves for Foundation Trades Programs at CNC.

This ten week Construction Industry Training (CIT) Programwill run full time from

January 16  to  March 29, 2017.

This program also provides excellent opportunities to network with local construction professionals.  Experience the industry first hand, from Red Seal Instructors, to site tours, and guest speakers.  This program is filled with opportunities to engage with the construction industry.




  • Job Boards: there are two job boards, one located at the Band Office on the south side and the other located at the Learning Centre on the north side. There is a section devoted to community news, meetings, etc.
  • Assist band members with individual training courses, resume and cover letter completion, job search, purchases of required work gear (1 time purchase), transportation to job site located out of town and the furthering of education levels.
  • 5 year Strategic Plan in place with the following planned:
    • Provision of employment services, access to funding and job opportunities, liaise with employers to increase employment opportunities within the Nation. Ongoing.
    • Delivery of 2-3 week industry soft skills program to both adults and youth. Ongoing.
    • Provide two(2) high school students with summer work experience (maximum of 7 students). Successfully completed.
    • In conjunction with Lheidli T’enneh Education, increase Lheidli T’enneh participation in Trades by supporting one (1) third year apprenticeship in Carpentry. Successfully completed.
    • In conjunction with Lheidli T’enneh Education, increase Lheidli T’enneh participation in Trades by supporting one (1) entry level tradesperson. In the works.
    • Secure Test of Workplace Essentials Skills (TOWES) Invigilator training for Karen Neu through Sandra Small, PGNAETA. Ongoing.
    • Provide a Mini Job Fair in the Lheidli T’enneh Community which may include other departments, Lheidli T’enneh contractors, PTP ASEP, PGNAETA, School District 57, UNBC and CNC recruiters, presentations by RCMP and Social Workers. In the works.
    • Conduct a Labour Force Skills Inventory of the Lheidli T’enneh membership in partnership with the Band's Social Assistance department. In the works.
